Teresa Urfer, Program Coordinator, Jump Start at IYC  Warrenville

Teresa Urfer is the Program Coordinator at IYC-Warrenville, having a  assumed that position in June 2017. Originally from Mt. Carmel, Illinois a small town on the  southeastern side of the state, she graduated from  Southern  Illinois University-Carbondale with a B.S in Speech  Communication. She also holds an M.A in Elementary  Education, and is currently pursuing a Reading Teacher  Endorsement from Olivet Navarene University. 

Teresa worked for 10 years in broadcast journalism, along with 10 years in retail and 4 years as a nationally certified  massage therapist. She came to LVI in 2014, as a volunteer  tutor at IYC-St. Charles. She so enjoyed her work with the  youth that she subsequently joined LVI's VOCAL program,  serving first as a part-time, then a full-time, then a Summer  of Service AmeriCorps member at IYC-St. Charles. Prior to  returning to LVI, Teresa was a Teacher's Assistant working  first with teens with behavior issues and then  developmentally disabled children.
